Oh – we told you we loved instagram right?
I can totally get LOST in there for hours, clicking through from account to account, seeing who is following who, and finding old friends (that’s another story). It’s just the best place for finding the coolest brands, and the quirkiest boutiques!
So, through one of my client’s instagram accounts, I am following @EightHourStudio…
Eight Hour Studio, are a contemporary luxury sleepwear brand, handmade, hand printed, using 100% GOTS certified organic cotton…. I followed one of their links, and found that they were stocked in a capsule pop-up section of Aida Shoreditch, and as we were in the area visiting friends, we popped in for a coffee and chatted to Scott about Aida, the store.
Aida is a beautifully designed space – a concept store opened in 2012 by sisters Helena, Daniella, Michele and Kristel. Styled across two floors, it’s a unique retail experience, featuring a well curated selection of independent clothing lines, where each brand’s transparency matters as much as style and quality, as the sisters look closely at the ethical ethos in their collaborations: “We always look at the way things are produced – where they come from, how they are made… It is something that is very important to us.”
We were also delighted to find that there is a really homely lounging space, with the nicest cakes and smoothest coffee in town. A great spot for people-watching the uber cool of Shoreditch.
Aida is also host to a well selected display of ethical homeware products – if you spotted Daisy Cooper, the east London-based ceramics brand, in the Standard recently, you’ll be pleased to here that Aida Shoreditch have a gorgeous selection of Daisy’s work – just delicious – you know how much we enjoy a well designed and crafted pot!
Scott tells us that Aida have some great plans for further collaborations and exciting events – needless to say, we’re now on the mailing list!
